• Government of Odisha selected the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as its national industry partner for the 3rd edition of the "Make in Odisha" conclave.
• Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICOL) owned by the government of Odisha is the nodal investment promotion and industrial facilitation agency signed a MoU with the FICCI for the promotion and investor outreach activities which has to be carried out until the next edition of the "Make in Odisha" conclave.

India launched its first-ever khadi fabric footwear

• Union Minister for MSME, Nitin Gadkari, launched the first-ever high quality Khadi Fabric Footwear of India.
• The footwear has been designed by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
• The footwears are made up of Khadi fabric such as Silk, Cotton and Wool.
• Footwears would bear the paintings from across India, including the Madhubani painting. This unique initiative will help to promote the various art forms of India along with the khadi fabric.
• The Khadi footwear price have been ranged from Rs 1100-3300 per pair.

Adoption of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act got Cabinet Approval

• The Union Cabinet has approved the adoption of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act
• This is the first time in 73 years after independence that the grass root level democracy will be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir region.
• Panchayati Raj System - It is a rural local self-government that was constitutionalized by the 73rd constitutional amendment act of 1992. The three levels of Panchayati Raj system include:
• Gram Panchayat at village level,
• Mandal Parishad or block Samiti or Panchayat Samiti at the block level and
• Zilla Parishad at district level.

Tamil Nadu Government implemented Smart Black Board Scheme

• The Tamil Nadu State government has implemented the smart blackboard scheme in more than 80,000 government schools to provide a better teaching environment.
• Central Education Ministry's Smart Class Room scheme is also being implemented in 7500 schools in Tamil Nadu.
• The government has also decided to reduce be syllabus by 40% for the 2020-2021 session in the light of Covid-19.

Election Commission set up a committee to review the Expenditure Limit

• The Election Commission has constituted a two-membered committee to review the experimental limit of the candidates contesting in Lok Sabha and Assembly election.
• The committee has been set up under the former director general investigation, Harish Kumar and the election commission secretary general, Umesh Sinha.
• The committee has been set up to review the Government of India's decision to increase the critical limit by 10% in accordance with the suggestion of the election commission.

'e-Dharti Geo portal' launched to integrate maps and lease plans

• Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has launched the 'e-Dharti Geo Portal'.
• The portal will integrate the legacy drawings including the maps and lease plans in the management information system.
• The portal will make the maps and lease plans geographic information system (GIS) -enabled.
• The land and development office (L&DO) is currently dealing with around 60,000 commercial, residential, industrial and institutional properties. It provides a property certificate incorporating details and the outline map of the property. These details can now be accessed online on the portal.

• The property holder would be provided a certificate.
• The certificate would include the property details such as land type, property type, date of allotment, property status,plot area, property address etc.
• The certificates can be attainted by paying a fee of 1,000
• It can be accessed by the public by visiting the L&DO website.
• The move benefit the general public particularly the elderly, besides it will help in avoiding unnecessary litigations.
• The certificate would contain the basic details of property and a map showing the location of the property.

INS Kavaratti commissioned into Indian Navy

• The Indian Naval Ship Kavaratti has been commissioned into the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam.
• The INS Kavaratti is one among the four indigenously built anti-submarine warfare stealth corvettes under the Kamorta class Corvettes or project 28.
• The ship was designed by the Directorate of Naval Design and has been built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata.
• Project 28 - It was approved in 2003. Under the project, the first ship that was constructed is INS Kamorta whose construction began in 2005 under the project. Under this project, four corvettes were commissioned into the Indian Navy.
• The four corvettes include INS Kamorta that was commissioned in 2014, INS Kadmatt commissioned in 2016, INS Kiltan in 2017 and the INS Kavaratti is being commissioned in 2020. All these four Indian Navy ships are named after the islands and archipelago of Lakshadweep.

"COVIRAP'- a low cost test developed by IIT Kharagpur gets ICMR go-ahead

• The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved a low cost COVID-19 test called COVIRAP
• . This diagnostic machine has been developed by IIT Kharagpur.
• The kit provides close test results similar to RT-PCR.
• . The test gives the results in less than an hour. It does not require air conditioned laboratory. So, the testing labs can be set up even in an open field.

UIDAI introduced Aadhaar PVC card, a new form of Aadhaar

• The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) introduced a new form of Aadhaar, namely, Aadhar polyvinyl chloride (PVC) card.

3rd SOGA 2020 Report - India topped PM 2.5 emissions

• The 3rd State of Global Air 2020 (SOGA 2020) report was released by United States-based Health Effects Institute (HEI) and Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation's (IHME) Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Project in which India recorded the highest annual average PM 2.5 concentration exposure in the world in 2019 followed by Nepal (2nd), and Niger (3rd).
• India is also among the top ten countries with highest ozone exposure in 2019. Qatar recorded the highest exposure followed by Nepal and India.
• Among the 20 most populous countries, India recorded the highest increase (17%) in 03 concentrations in the past ten years.
