Rajasthan has approved 'Moksh Kalash Yojana 2020'

  • Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave approval for the scheme Moksh Kalash Yojana 2020, which allows free bus travel to twa members of a family to Haridwar.
  • Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation will run the scheme and the expenses will be borne by the Devasthan Department, Rajasthan Government.
  • Online registration of passengers, arrangements for transport and facilities provided during the travel will be carried out by Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation,
  • Everyone can avail the scheme except income taxpayers and government employees.

Andhra CM launches "AP Police Service App" for online complaint filing

  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the mobile application "AP Police Service" to file complaints online and monitor the status of complaints.
  • The Police Service App provides 87 types of services, including the detection of fake news connecting all police stations across the state.

Tamil Nadu becomes first state with policies on Ethical artificial intelligence, Blockchain and Cybersecurity

  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami released Tamil Nadu Cyber Security Policy 2020, Tamil Nadu Blockchain Policy 2020 and Tamil Nadu Safe and Ethical Artificial Intelligence Policy 2020 (Nicknamed as ABC Policies) while participating in the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Connect 2020 event through video conference.
  • It became the first state in the country to release policies on Ethical artificial intelligence, Blockchain and Cybersecurity.

ITBP + Uttarakhand Govt tied up for Promoting Adventure Tourism at Tehri Lake

  • Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) collaborated with Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) to promote adventure sports activities at Tehri Lake in Uttarakhand,
  • Under this MoU, the Tehri Lake Adventure Institute will now be administered and managed by ITBP for 20 years where they will impart training of water sports including kayaking, canoeing, rowing, sailing, parasailing, paragliding, water rescue and life-saving course.
  • It will also benefit ITBP and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) and State Police Forces in the field of water sports.

Nepal and India begin joined security patrol along border in Kapilvastu district

  • The security forces of Nepal and India have started a joint security patrol at the Nepal-India border in Kapilvastu district, Nepal. The patrol has been started with a motive to control the spread of COVID-19 and keep in check the illegal cross border activities at the Nepal-India Border.

  • World Rose Day for the Welfare of Cancer Patients was first observed in honor of 12-year-old Melinda Rose from Canada, who was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer known as Askin's tumor. Even while the doctors had only given her weeks to live, she went on to live for 6 months and spent her time bringing joy and hope to all the diagnosed people around her. She reached out ta all the cancer patients, sharing poems, letters and emails with them, to bring some cheer into their lives. Her kindness and optimism serve as a reminder to us all, that even in the most bleak of all situations, hape is what keeps us going
  • By offering roses to cancer patients and their caregivers, people extend their concern and offer tenderness in the face of this harsh disease.
  • Unfortunately, the medical and science fields are yet to come up with an absolute cure for cancer, despite their constant dedication to this cause, we can all contribute in our own way by being mindful of their suffering and ensuring that we care for them and contribute to their strength so that they may continue fighting.

International Day of Sign languages (IDSL) - September 23

  • UN celebrates the International Day of Sign Languages (IDSL) annually on September 23. It is observed to support and protect the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of all deaf people and other sign language users.
  • The year 2020 marks the 3rd edition.
  • The Theme for International Day of Sign Language 2020 is - "Sign Languages are for everyone!".
  • The day corresponds with International Week of the Deaf, which is taking place from 21st September to 27th September, 2020.
  • The IDSL was first celebrated in 2018 as part of the International Week of the Deaf.
  • The proposal for IDSL came from World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), which is a federation of 135 national associations of deaf people and represents approximately 70 million deaf people human rights.
  • The choice of the date commemorates the date on which WFD was established in 1951.
