"Chief Minister Gramya Paribahan Achoni"

  • CM Sarbananda Sonowal of Assam launched “Mukhyamantri Gramya Paribahan Achoni Chief Minister Rural Transport Scheme and distributed light motor vehicles to the beneficiaries under this scheme.
  • Under this scheme one light motor vehicle will be made available to one beneficiary per village.
  • The government will provide 25% cost of the vehicle or 1 lakh(whichever is less) to the eligible entrepreneurs for this scheme.
  • Vehicles provided under this scheme will improve connectivity and support conditions of medical emergencies.
  • The first phase of this scheme with a financial outlay of Rs 100 crore will cover around 10000 villages across the state.
  • With subsequent phases, it is expected to cover all 26000 villages under the scheme.

2 Green Projects to be built in Connect with EU countries

  • Mamata Banerjee has virtually inaugurated 2 major green projects worth around Rs 1226 crore to be set up in collaboration with European Union countries.
  • Of the 2 green projects, one is a management and sustainable development project to be built in Kolkata Leather Complex at Bantala in the eastern outskirts of the city. The solar power project will be built in Purba (East) Medinipur district.

  • The project involves a foreign investment worth 3 million Euros (around Rs 26 crore). It will be built in collaboration with Dutch partners.

  • The project worth Rs 1200 crore will be set up by a German company. RS 200 crore will be invested by the West Bengal Government in the project. It will generate 350 million units of power per annum

  • The Virtual G-20 (Group of Twenty) Trade and Investment Ministers under the Saudi Arabia Presidency was held where India was represented by Union Commerce and Industry & Railways Minister Piyush Vedprakash Goyal.

DRDO conducted successful flight test of ABHYAS from Odisha Test Range

  • Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully conducted the flight test of ABHYAS - High Speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) from the Interim Test Range, Balasore, Odisha
  • ABHYAS is designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) of DRDO.
  • The ABHYAS vehicle is a drone and can be used as a target for evaluation of various missile systems.
  • This is the second time that the target vehicle (ABHYAS) was successfully tested. The first successful test was conducted in May 2019.

Indigenously Developed Prithvi-ii Missile Successfully Night Test Fired

  • As a part of routine trail India successfully conducted the night test fire of its indigenously developed nuclear capable surface-to-surface Prithvi-II missile which was carried out from a mobile launcher from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range(ITR) at Chandipur Odisha.
  • The entire launch activity was carried out by Strategic Force Command (SFC) of the Army and monitored by scientists of Defense Research and Development Organization(DRDO).

DRDO has successfully Test Fired Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missile

  • DRDO successfully test fired the Indigenously developed Laser Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun at the Armored Corps Center and School (ACC & S), KK Ranges in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The missile had hit a target of up to 3 km in these tests.
  • Pune based DRDO facilities Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) developed the missile in collaboration with DRDO Laboratory Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE) in Dehradun.

  • Suresh Channabasappa Angadi. Union Minister of State for Railways and BJP MP from Belagavi constituency of Karnataka passed away at the age of 65 after testing positive for COVID-19 at the COVID Facility, New Delhi.
