A.60 cm2

B.150 cm2

C.120 cm2

D.90 cm2

E.None of these

2) The circumference of the semi-circle is 360cm. If the side of the square is 3/5th of diameter of the circle, then what is the perimeter of the square?

A.332 cm

B.336 cm

C.340 cm

D.344 cm

E.348 cm

3) The ratio of the area of two triangles is 5: 3 and the ratio of their heights is 3: 5. Find the ratio of their bases.

A.5: 4

B.4: 5

C.25: 9

D.9: 24

E.None of these

4) If the diameter of the wheel is 14m, then the number of times the wheel of the bus rotates in a journey of 11km will be,

A.168 cm2

B.176 cm2

C.192 cm2

D.216 cm2

E.None of these

Answers :

1) Answer: A

248 = 2 * (3x * 2x + 2x * 5x + 5x * 3x)

31x2 = 124

x2 = 4

x = 2

Breadth of the rectangle = 2 * 3 = 6 cm

Length of the rectangle = 6 + 4 = 10 cm

Area of the rectangle = 6 * 10 = 60 cm2

2) Answer: B

Circumference of the semi-circle = 360cm

r(π+2) = 360

r(22/7+2) = 360

Therefore, radius of the circle = 70cm

Diameter of the circle = 140cm

Side of the square = 3/5  (140) = 84cm

Perimeter of the square = 4a = 4*84 = 336 cm

3) Answer: C

Let the bases of two triangles be x and y.

Heights be 3h and 5h respectively.

(½ * x * 3h)/ (1/2 * y * 5h) = 5/3

=> x/y = 25/9

4) Answer: A

Diameter of the wheel = 14m

Radius of the wheel = 7m,

Distance covered by wheel per rotation = 2πr

= 2 π (7)

= 44m

Total distance covered by the wheel = 11km = 11000

44 (no of rotation made by the wheel) = 11000

No. of rotation =250

5) Answer: C

Length +breadth= 28 cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length +breadth)=28 * 2 = 56 cm

Perimeter of the square = 56 cm

Side of the square = 14 cm

Length of the rectangle = 14 + 2 = 16 cm

Breadth of the rectangle = 28 – 16 = 12 cm

Area of the rectangle = 16 * 12 = 192 cm2
