Here we are providing new series of Quantitative Aptitude Questions for upcoming exams, so the aspirants can practice it on a daily basis.
Read the data given below in the paragraph carefully and answer the questions given below:
Ravish manufactured an item for which he required raw material, labour and transportation. Cost of raw material is Rs.14400 and cost of labour is ___(A)____rupees. Cost of transportation is Rs.17400 and marked up that item by 60% over its manufacturing cost which is Rs.27000. He sold the item after allowing two successive discounts 25% and ___(B)___ percent respectively and gains Rs.900. Total amount of discount given by him is ____(C)____rupees and the amount that Ravish received after selling the item, he invested in a scheme for ____(D)____ years at 20% annual CI. Total amount of interest received by him from the scheme is Rs.20196. Now, Ravish and Manish started doing a work and together they can do the work in B days. If Ravish is 60% as efficient as Manish and difference between time taken by Ravish and Manish alone to do the work is ____(E)____ days.

5) Value of E?
a) 16
b) 24
c) 20
d) 18
e) 12
Answers :
1) Answer: B
Total manufacturing cost of item = 14400 + A + 17400 = (31800 + A)
Marked up amount on the item = 60% of (31800 + A) = 27000
19080 + 0.6A = 27000
A = 13200
2) Answer: E
Selling price of item = (100 – B)% of 75% of 160% of (31800 + A) = (31800 + A) + 900
(100 – B) * (38160 + 1.2A) = 100(32700 + A)
(100 – B) * 54 = 4590
100 – B = 85
B = 15
3) Answer: C
Amount received by Ravish after selling the item = (31800 + A) + 900 = Rs.45900
Marked price of item = (31800 + A) + 27000 = Rs.72000
Total amount of discount = C = 72000 – 45900
C = 26100
4) Answer: D
According to the question:
45900 * (112/100) D = 45900 + 20196
45900 * (1.2) D = 45900 + 20196
1.2D = 66096/45900 = 1.44
1.2D = 1.22
D = 2
5) Answer: A
Ratio of efficiency of Ravish to Manish = 60: 100
Ratio of efficiency of Ravish to Manish = 3: 5
Let time taken by Ravish and Manish alone to do the work is ‘5x’ and ‘3x’ respectively.
Now,
(1/5x) + (1/3x) = (1/B)
(3 + 5)/15x = (1/15)
8/x = 1
x = 8
Difference between time taken by Ravish and Manish alone to do the work = E = 5x – 3x = 2x
E = 16
