Answers :

Explanation

Total books sold by company A = 18% of 5000 = 900

Number of Quantum Cat books = 5/9 x 900 = 500

Number of Quant theory books = 4/9 x 900 = 400

Similarly we can find all required data

1) Answer: C

Let the price of each Quantum Cat book for company E= 4a

Price of each Quant theory book for company E = 4a + 1/4 x 4a = 5a

According to question

400 x 4a + 350 x 5a = 2680000

3350a = 2680000

a = 800

Price of each Quant theory book = 5 x 800 = Rs. 4000

2) Answer: A

Required Average of company A and E = (500 + 400)/2 = 450

Required Average of Company B and D together = (600 + 500)/2 = 550

Required % change = (550 – 450)/550 x 100 = 18.18%~ 18.2% less

3) Answer: B

Number of Quant theory books sold by company F = 150% x 400 = 600

Number of Quantum cat books sold by company F = 142% of 1250 = 1775

Total number of books sold by company F = 1775 + 600 = 2375

4) Answer: D

Total revenue generated by company E = 20.1/120 x 100 = 16.75 lakhs

Let the price of each Quantum Cat book for company E = 4a

Price of each Quant theory book = 125% of 4a = 5a

According to question

4a x 400 + 5a x 350 = 1675000

3350a = 1675000

a = 500

Price of each Quantum Cat book = 4 x 500 = Rs. 2000

5) Answer: E

Average of Quantum cat books = 2950/5 = 590

Average of Quant theory books = 2050/5 = 410

Required difference = 180
